Couple things came together to inspire this. Fractals do it for me and this has always been one of my favourites. This fractal has several names - the Harter-Heighway dragon, the dragon fractal, or more commonly, the Jurassic Park fractal, because it was used on the chapter pages of the novel.

It was originally going to be my entry to the Stitching Pirates 5 colours or less *cross stitch* competition (can you see the obvious problem with this??).

And as for the theme... well, its obviously not the colour scheme. Remember the song Rainbow Connection? The lovers, the dreamers and me? That's what made me think of this fractal. I have no idea why. But I tried to make the colours a bit misty and dreamy to reflect it.
